Join the growing number of individuals and organizations who are endorsing the six Calls to Action from the Pan-Canadian Voice for Women’s Housing.
By backing this campaign, you are joining a movement to amplify the voices and lived expertise of women, girls and gender-diverse people to help ensure they can’t be erased when governments create and act on housing policy.
We are calling on the Government of Canada to make changes:
Update the National Housing Strategy to reflect the voices, perspectives and calls to action from women and gender-diverse people with lived expertise of the housing crisis.
Ensure the needs of First Nations, Métis and Inuit women and gender-diverse people are specifically addressed in new housing and housing strategies.
Prioritize capital and infrastructure funding for housing that supports the needs of women, their children and gender-diverse people.
Work collaboratively with provincial and local governments, and local agencies to provide flexible, sustained, predictable and adequate operating funding for housing agencies serving the needs of women, their children and gender-diverse people.
Deliver a Guaranteed Annual Income that reflects different regions’ needs.
Continue to support and fund the Pan-Canadian Voice for Housing.
